Purifying Revival in Northeast India The reports of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Northeast India from my friend and fellow-worker, Reuben Pradhan (http://torestoration.googlepages.com/), continue to stir my heart. As you can see from the following report, while God is continuing to woo non-believers (Hindus, Buddhists, animists) to Himself, a great sense of God's holiness is apparently falling on the church, and saints are welcoming the purifying fire of the Spirit purging them. To understand the context of these reports, and thrill to what God is doing in Northeast India in the last few weeks, begin by reading Reuben’s introduction to “How It All Began,” click here first.
Deep Sense of Conviction
13th Sept ‘06 12:50 p.m. Shillong, India Local newspapers continue to report that believers in different places are seeing visions of Jesus and angels, and that spontaneous prayers and repentance are occurring. One thing that is becoming evident among believers, as I meet and talk with them, is a deep sense of conviction, repentance, and transformation taking place. Even people who are known to be walking faithfully with the Lord and doing well spiritually are experiencing a sense of hunger for more of God and change in their lives. Petty sins, shortcomings, and weaknesses are no longer being overlooked, but are dealt with in solemnity and seriousness before the Purifier. And believers are also receiving a new boldness in declaring the gospel of salvation to the lost. Non-Christians are beginning to ask questions about Jesus, why He was crucified, etc. We’re not hearing as much about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in schools and among students in recent days, but His work continues, especially among those who’ve already been touched by Him, but also among others, too. I have a feeling that what we’ve seen in the recent past was the first phase of the outpouring, and that it was especially for the younger generation, although many adults have been deeply and powerfully touched, as well. But now the second phase awaits, and I feel that this will impact the adults–the older generations who will then join in with the young people and children who've already been ignited by the fire of revival. Families and homes from one locality to another will begin to experience what the students did in their schools. When this happens the impact will multiply manifold compared to what’s happening now. In fact it would be worldwide. Toward that end let’s unitedly pray and intercede before our Father. Reuben Pradhan http://torestoration.googlepages.com/ I imagine many in other countries who read these accounts, join me in longing for the Lord to do similar things in our own nations and communities. I believe the Lord wants to do this, and is ready to answer fervent, persevering prayer. Let's all continue praying for the work He's currently doing in India, while also inviting Him (beseeching Him) to pour out His Holy Spirit on all flesh throughout the world.
